What should I do if a pipe bursts before you arrive?

Turn off the water at the internal stop tap (usually under the kitchen sink), open the cold taps to drain the system down, and turn off the central heating. If water is near electrics, switch off the affected circuits at the fuse board. Then call us and we will get to you as quickly as possible.

How do you find a hidden leak?

We start with the obvious signs, damp patches, dropping boiler pressure, high water bills, then trace pipe runs, test sections under pressure and use moisture readings to narrow it down. The aim is always to open up the smallest area possible rather than pulling floors up on a hunch.

Can you clear a blocked sink?

Yes. Most blocked sinks are a build-up in the trap or waste pipe and are cleared quickly. If the blockage is further down the run we will trace and clear that too, and let you know if anything about the pipework is likely to cause it to happen again.
